Civil Project Engineer II

Primary Position Duties
  • Perform civil engineering design calculations, sketches, technical comparisons and similar technical work as required by assignment.
  • Performs assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks; limited exercise of judgment is required on details or work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • Using prescribed methods, performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced civil engineer.
  • Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
  • Assists in the preparation of improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents and permit applications for both private, public works, and government projects.
  • Performs plan drafting using CADD software.
  • Participates in project team meetings and follows procedures outlined in Project Management Standards manual.
  • Assigns tasks to Engineering Technicians and Project Engineers, as necessary.
Position Requirements
  • Fluent English with reading, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and other video conferencing software.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data, apply problem solving skills to specific projects, develop creative solutions, work alone or as part of a project team, and demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills are essential for this position.
Education and Skills Required
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
  • Current Driver’s License.
Preferred
  • Registration as an Engineer in Training.
  • Minimum of three (3) years civil engineering experience.
