American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift acute care hospital assignment requiring at least 1 year of Med/Surg Tele experience and an active IL RN license.
Requirements- Active IL RN license or ability to obtain prior to start
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele experience required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Experience with both adult and geriatric patient populations required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring
- Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration), heparin protocols, PCA, and thrombolytic agents
- Experience with respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
- Experience with wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, and surgical drains preferred
- Experience with orthopedic and cardiovascular conditions including ortho trauma, total joint replacement, pacemakers, and post-MI care preferred
- Med/Surg Tele unit within a 65-bed acute care hospital
- 26-bed unit with average daily census of 8
- Patient ratios of 1:4-6
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- No block scheduling accommodations available
- Uses Cerner for charting
- Provide nursing care for a Med/Surg Tele patient population including cardiac, renal, neurological, and gastrointestinal cases
- Community hospital experience preferred
- RTO must be discussed and approved with the manager during the interview process
- Scrubs of any color permitted, but no t-shirts, sweatshirts, or logos from other organizations
