Position Title
F.A.R.M Summer Apprentice – Agriculture Apprenticeship for Summer 2026 (Entry Level Opportunity)
Position SummaryAssist the Field Operations Representative with daily responsibilities including research trial establishment, general maintenance, and support on plot tours.
Responsibilities- Advance sustainability and crop research to feed the world.
- Collaborate with scientists evaluating crops for traits using data to advance agriculture.
- Receive hands‑on experience in agriculture research and field operations.
- Receive mentoring and training to advance your career.
- 2‑month apprenticeship during Summer 2026.
- Starting pay $17 per hour.
- Assist in crop and trial establishment involving measuring and labeling plots, planting/transplanting crops, evaluating plots for efficacy and crop phytotoxicity, assisting with irrigation systems, and harvesting.
- Assist with loading and hauling equipment to research sites in the supervisor’s territory.
- Perform field trial and equipment maintenance.
- Assist with establishment and monitoring of sales demonstration trials.
- Enter data into the SCOUT system.
- Assist in planting, pollinating, harvesting, weeding, preparing fields, preparing seed, sampling, detasseling, rogueing, and other field and outdoor seed activities related to crops and fields.
- Assist in the maintenance and improvement of the farms and assets.
- Provide support for the Safety program by adhering to all safety policies and attending regular company‑sponsored safety meetings.
- Assist in carrying out other responsibilities assigned.
- Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs or less, stand for prolonged periods, perform repetitive tasks, and work at waist level and below.
- Activities require bending, lifting, and long periods of sitting or standing outdoors.
- Extended hours or shift work may be requested during peak seasons; flexible hours may exceed 8 hours per day.
- Must be able to read, write, and understand verbal and written instructions in English.
- Must adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and support site safety requirements.
- Must function as a team member and take daily direction from supervisors and managers.
- Minimum age 18 years at start date.
- High School or GED required.
Pursuing a career as an Apprentice in agronomy, crop science, Ag business, agriculture technology systems, technology, engineering, or a related field of study.
