Accounts Payable Supervisor​/Manager

Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager to lead daily payables operations in Jessup, Maryland. This role oversees invoice processing, payment execution, and workflow accuracy while supporting efficient financial controls. The ideal candidate brings strong AP leadership experience and a practical understanding of invoice coding, check processing, and ACH transactions.

Responsibilities:

- Direct the day-to-day accounts payable function, ensuring invoices are reviewed, coded, and processed accurately and on schedule.

- Supervise payment activities, including check runs and ACH disbursements, while maintaining compliance with internal controls.

- Monitor invoice workflows to resolve discrepancies, address exceptions, and improve turnaround times.

- Review supporting documentation and approvals to confirm transactions are complete, accurate, and properly recorded.

- Guide and support AP staff by assigning work, answering process questions, and promoting consistent performance standards.

- Partner with finance and operational teams to address vendor payment issues and strengthen payment procedures.

- Maintain organized records and reporting related to payables activity for audit readiness and financial review.

Requirements - At least 5 years of experience in accounts payable, including leadership or supervisory responsibility.

- Proven knowledge of invoice coding and high-volume invoice processing practices.

- Hands-on experience managing check runs and ACH payment transactions.

- Strong understanding of accounts payable controls, accuracy standards, and reconciliation support.

- Ability to identify discrepancies, solve payment issues, and manage competing priorities effectively.

- Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

- Proficiency with accounting systems and standard office software used in AP operations.
