This Project Engineer opportunity offers a pivotal role in driving capital projects and integrating the latest milling, blending, and packaging technologies into production lines. Responsibilities- Plan, design, and install new equipment and industrial systems to support operational efficiency.
- Create and develop drawings and technical documentation from concept through to final proposal using AutoCAD or Solid Works.
- Continuously research and evaluate advancements in engineering, machinery, materials, and industry techniques for process improvement.
- Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams for project planning and execution.
- Support maintenance staff with technical issues and assist in non-routine maintenance activities.
- Enforce plant objectives related to Safety, Quality, Sanitation, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness throughout all projects.
- Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards are embedded in all new designs and processes.
- Ability to read, interpret, and create engineering drawings and schematics.
- Project management experience in capital and plant operations/maintenance environments.
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities with proven results-driven focus.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or Solid Works and strong computer skills (Excel, Word & Outlook).
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for OSHA, FDA, and EPA.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred).
- Comfortable in an industrial or manufacturing environment with strong collaborative (floor) presence.
- Safety and process hazard analysis expertise.
- Advanced knowledge of Lean, 6S, and TPM principles.
- 6+ years of process engineering experience within food, chemical, or beverage manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience with sifting, cleaning, sterilization, milling, mixing, and packaging equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities efficiently.
