Description
Amazon Web Services is seeking a Solutions Architect to support our US Government customers in the BWI / Jessup, MD area.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for experienced and motivated technologists who align with our Leadership Principles and possess a unique balance of technical depth and strong interpersonal skills. You will partner with customers, AWS Sales and several other AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that address Intelligence Community customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.
As a trusted customer advocate, the solutions architect will help organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate existing workloads to the cloud.

- Having a strong understanding of large‑scale computing solutions and prior systems or support engineering and pre‑sales experience.
- Work with the sales team to formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through AWS adoption.
- Drive success in building and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform.
- Educate customers on AWS value proposition and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure successful cloud deployment.
- Conduct training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers.
- Capture and share best‑practice knowledge within the AWS solutions architect community.
- Author or contribute to AWS customer‑facing publications such as whitepapers.
- Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.
- Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support.
- 8+ years of specific technology domain experience (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- 6+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience with applications and infrastructures.
- Experience effectively communicating and presenting technical solutions to a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Experience defining technical solutions to meet business objectives.
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant certifications (CASP+, CCSP, Cloud+, CSSLP).
- 10+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience.
- Experience architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise customers.
- Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using Linux/Unix and Windows with recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, and storage architectures.
- Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
- Professional experience architecting/deploying/operating solutions built on AWS.
- Understanding of federal government application, server, and network security requirements such as ICD 503, FISMA and FedRAMP.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
