Amazon Web Services is seeking a Solutions Architect to support US Government customers in the BWI / Jessup, MD area. The role involves partnering with customers, AWS Sales and other AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that address Intelligence Community customer business problems and accelerate AWS adoption. The Solutions Architect will help shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and broad use of AWS within the Intelligence Community.

• In partnership with the sales team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS.
• As a key member of the business development and sales team, ensure success in building and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform.
• Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
• Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS.
• Capture and share best‑practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community.
• Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer‑facing publications such as whitepapers and other reusable content.
• Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.
• Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support.

• 8+ years of specific technology domain experience (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
• 6+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures.
• Experience effectively communicating to and presenting technical solutions to a diverse set of technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including senior business leaders, analysts, IT management, and developers.
• Experience defining technical solutions to meet business objectives.
• Current, active US Government security clearance of TS/SCI with polygraph.

• Bachelor's degree or professional certifications such as CASP+, CCSP, Cloud+, or CSSLP.
• 10+ years of infrastructure, database architecture, and networking experience.
• Experience architecting or deploying cloud/virtualization solutions for enterprise customers.
• Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows with specific recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, and storage architectures.
• Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
• Professional experience architecting, deploying, or operating solutions built on AWS.
• Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as ICD‑503, FISMA, and FedRAMP.

The base salary range for this position in Jessup, MD is USD  –  annually, and the package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units.
