Network Infrastructure Engineer , Dedicated Cloud; NIDD

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep the cloud running. We work on the most challenging problems in supply chain and collaborate across AWS to deliver high‑quality safety, security, and capacity at the lowest possible cost.

• Communicate project status and blockers to leadership and project management.
• Perform device build and cabling validation activities.
• Manage cabling vendor activities and conduct quality assurance.
• Support Network Engineering deployment activities during scheduled change management windows, including migration, configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
• Complete customer requests via Remedy trouble ticketing system.
• Troubleshoot networking, routing, and inter‑connectivity issues, including device configuration and low‑level application interaction; deliver simple, sustainable, repeatable solutions.
• Manage work and priorities through the ticketing system and workflow; collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
• Travel within geographical work area as required; up to 40% travel outside the traditional work area, including possible international travel.

Attending meetings, creating and executing change management activities in the data centre, deploying hardware, connecting cabling, troubleshooting links, updating tickets, and working with peers from across AWS to innovate and develop better solutions for customers.

• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment (e.g., VFL, power meter, OTDR).
• General comprehension of data centre infrastructure components and sub‑components.
• 3‑5+ years of mid‑level and/or enterprise experience as a technician or engineer, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP or JNCIA.
• BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, or relevant field.
• Understanding of infrastructure technologies, including routers, switches, and common networking protocols (BGP, OSPF).
• Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment.
• General comprehension of data centre infrastructure components.
