POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsible in assisting Operations Manager in the effective execution of warehouse operations and coordination with all departments.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee all day to day warehouse operations within shipping, receiving and transportation to assure seamless handoff of the day shift.
  • Develop, coach and mentor staff through effective use of continuous feedback and communication.
  • Ensure timely loading of local delivery and third‑party trucks.
  • Execute the Operational goals and objectives provided by the Operations Manager.
  • Monitor progress of the goals and provide regular reporting to the Operations Manager.
  • Provide daily direction to supervisors.
  • Ensure all direct reports are properly trained in their necessary duties and suggest training to improve the required skills and performance.
  • Assist in the hiring of new employees, training, disciplinary procedures and performance reviews.
  • Oversee the signoff of night shift warehouse payroll.
  • Assist in the management of the weekly schedule for adequate staffing levels throughout warehouse and transportation.
  • Ensure that returns/rejections are properly processed and put away.
  • Close the facility in a thorough and safe manner.
  • Promote safety throughout the warehouse. Ensure that accident procedures are followed, and corrective actions are taken.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures to include compliance with food safety and HACCP program requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years distribution management experience.
  • Broad understanding in Federal and State regulations pertaining to transportation.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet tight timelines.
  • Proficient with computer and appropriate software.
  • Experience in the use of material handling equipment (electric pallet jack, forklift) required.
  • Knowledge of USDA fresh fruit and vegetable grading standards preferred.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. The employee will occasionally work in the warehouse where the temperatures range from 33 – 55 degrees.
