SUMMARY:

The Quality Engineer supports and continuously improves the effectiveness of the AS9100 Quality Management System. This role is responsible for driving root cause analysis, corrective actions, first article inspections, data analysis, and cross‑functional quality improvement initiatives. The Quality Engineer works closely with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain while maintaining independence from production decision‑making.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support and maintain compliance with AS9100 and applicable customer, regulatory, and contractual requirements
  • Lead root cause analysis using structured methods (5-Why, Fishbone, fault tree, etc.)
  • Manage corrective and preventive actions (CARs/SCARs) and verify effectiveness
  • Support internal audits and external/customer audits as assigned
  • Lead and/or review First Article Inspections (AS9102)
  • Support nonconformance review and disposition processes
  • Analyze quality data, trends, and KPIs to identify systemic issues
  • Support risk identification and mitigation activities
  • Support supplier performance monitoring and corrective actions
  • Assist with customer quality issues, escapes, and complaints
  • Support flowdown and verification of customer quality requirements
  • Drive process improvements to reduce defects, rework, and cost of poor quality
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to strengthen process controls and documentation
  • Uphold the company core values
  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful accomplishment of duties and responsibilities may require the following:

  • Experience working in an AS9100 or ISO 9001 manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Experience with FAI / AS9102
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Internal auditor experience or training
  • Familiarity with inspection methods, GD&T, and measurement systems
  • Experience supporting customer audits (e.g., primes, OEMs)
EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE:

Applicant must have at least an Associate’s Degree from an accredited technical program or equivalent, or an equivalent level of work experience combined with applicable education

3-5 years’ experience in a quality role, a plus if in the aerospace or defense manufacturing space.

LANGUAGE

SKILLS:

Ability to speak and understand basic safety and manufacturing instructions.
