Food Safety Technician / Quality Assurance Technician

Pay Rate:
Up to $19.25/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Food Safety Technician to support our food safety and quality assurance programs within a fast-paced production environment. This position is responsible for identifying, monitoring, and controlling critical points in the production process where food safety hazards may occur. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, GMPs, HACCP requirements, and company SOPs while coaching team members on best practices and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform environmental testing procedures according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Complete all required HACCP checks, measurements, and supporting documentation accurately and on time through Audit.
  • Comply and other reporting systems.
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections, including ATP testing.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with GMPs, HACCP programs, sanitation standards, and company SOPs.
  • Observe product flow through various value-added production departments to ensure food safety requirements are met.
  • Partner with leadership to identify coaching and training opportunities related to food safety and quality standards.
  • Operate and verify metal detector systems in accordance with company procedures.
  • Assist leadership with ongoing food safety training and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with all Critical Control Points (CCPs) within the value-added production division.
  • Identify product, process, or equipment deviations from acceptable standards and implement immediate corrective actions.
  • Ensure chemical storage cages and cabinets remain secure at all times.
  • Communicate food safety concerns, non-conformances, and corrective actions promptly to production and leadership teams.
  • Support facility readiness for audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
Qualifications

Education High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience Minimum of 2 years of production experience required.

Some knowledge of food processing, food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance programs preferred.
