As a Technician at Penske, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on the newest, best-maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry, helping customers keep their vehicles in shape and on the road.
Main Responsibilities- Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
- Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
- Perform preventative maintenance repairs – such as tire replacement/rotation, component lubrication and replacement, electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
- Partner with a manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching.

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and 1‑2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to solve problems and comfortable using tools.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to comply with DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies.
- Regular, predictable full attendance is essential.
- Current DOT qualification file maintained (including MVR checks, DOT physical, safety performance history, and CDL drug screening if applicable).
- Willingness to meet required schedule, location, application process, background screening, drug screen, physical, and potential travel for training.
- Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods.
- Use hands routinely for grasping, reaching, touching, handling, and operating tools or controls.
- Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms.
- Work in all weather conditions.
- See and hear to navigate safely around large truck traffic.
- Regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg); push/pull truck tires exceeding 100 lbs.
