The Driver Lead is responsible for overseeing Driver associates, completing required paperwork and reports, overseeing driver operations, and providing the necessary leadership to ensure the achievement of departmental goals. The Driver Lead is a working role where they will be taking care of daily deliveries while also providing leadership for driver's crew.

The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday from 6am to finish.

You will:

  • Conduct meetings with Driver associates, including monthly safety huddle
  • Overseeing driver associates and driver operations
  • Complete the required paper, including sending to Transportation Management, reports such as driver logs, driver meal forms, hazmat information, and any compliance paperwork
  • Notify Branch Leadership/ Transportation Manager about work-related problems and/or procedures
  • Ensure safety regulations and safety policies are followed, and required safety equipment is available and maintained
  • Participate in training seminars and company meetings
  • Foster an atmosphere that enhances team cohesiveness
  • Provide direction to ensure adherence to department guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Participate in reviewing, selecting, and hiring new associates

You have:

  • A valid commercial driver's license
  • Must be able to pass a DOT Medical Exam
  • A good driving record
  • Good organizational, time management, and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of warehouse functions/operations
  • Knowledge of Commercial Motor Vehicle operations and regulations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Microsoft Outlook and Excel knowledge is a plus
