Position Summary:
The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of grocery products from the Distribution Center in Jessup, MD to assigned store locations across the region. This role operates 48-53-foot tractor-trailers, verifies loads, completes required documentation, and ensures compliance with all safety, DOT, and company standards. Drivers are home daily and must be flexible to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as part of a 24/7 essential operation.

- Safely operate a 48-53-foot tractor-trailer to transport grocery product from the Distribution Center to store locations across DC, VA, DE, MD, and PA
- Pick up assigned loads from the warehouse, verify load accuracy, and ensure timely delivery to designated store locations
- Drop pallets of product at store locations (no touch freight)
- Comply with all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and hours-of-service requirements
- Drive safely in all conditions, including heavy traffic, adverse weather, and varying road environments
- Accurately complete all required paperwork, logs, delivery documentation, and electronic records
- Utilize in-cab safety and tracking technology (Samsara) in accordance with company standards
- Follow assigned routes, schedules, rest periods, and delivery windows
- Read maps, follow GPS and written directions, and adjust routes as needed
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any safety or maintenance issues
- Maintain a professional, reliable, and customer-focused demeanor at all delivery locations
- Work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays, as required by business operations
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL
A) - Minimum of 9-10 months of verifiable on-the-road driving experience with a Class A license (school experience does not qualify)
- Ability to safely operate 48-53-foot tractor-trailers
- Clean driving record in accordance with company and DOT standards
- Knowledge of and compliance with DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and safety requirements
