The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of transportation activities at the site to ensure on-time delivery service to our customers. Effectively communicates with sales, planning, and supply chain partners to ensure a detailed and accurate exchange of information. This hourly position reports directly to the Commercial Operations Sr. Manager. Along with other employees, the Logistics Coordinator actively participates in safety audits to ensure a safe workplace.
Key Responsibilities- Create and update shipping schedules for EAM; manage available capacity and accommodate customer/carrier/shipping needs for both prepaid and customer routed freight
- Work with shipping personnel, suppliers, and purchasing to ensure routing guide compliance and process requests for authorized expedited shipments
- Maintain raw material logs and audit outbound shipment paperwork
- Prepare audit, costing and supply or inventory reports as needed
- Be an effective liaison between operations, sales, and the site transportation providers as needed
- Daily internal communication with loading/forklift drivers
- Book requests in Expeditor portal
- Assist carriers with setting appointments
- Investigate shipping/roll issues
- Apply overrun inventory to prime orders to reduce/cycle inventory to prevent rolls aging, and provide list of rolls needing to be culled
- Inventory commodities and participate in physical roll inventory audits
- Request quotes for sample shipments and manage the loading and labeling activities
- Perform lab calibration of critical instruments based on the Critical Instrument list frequency
- Schedule and manage yearly calibrations of production scales and lab equipment
- Other assignments within scope as deemed necessary
Years of Experience/Education/Certifications:
- Associates degree in Logistics, Transportation, or a Business-related field, or equivalent experience
- Advanced PC Skills such as: MS Excel, Word, Power Point
- Ability to interface and work across all levels within the organization
- Working knowledge of Solstice or similar system is preferred
- 1+ year experience in Transportation or Logistics role
- Detail oriented
- Able to multi-task, with advanced time management skills to meet deadlines
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Able to work independently
- Ability to interface and work well across all levels internally as well as external customers
