This role is suited to a commercially minded professional with strong data analysis capability and procurement pricing exposure. The successful candidate will play a key role in analysing, managing, and optimising pricing structures to support profitability, cost control, and competitive positioning across the organisation.
Duties and Responsibilities The Pricing Analyst will be responsible for:
Pricing & Cost Analysis
- Analyse supplier pricing, cost breakdowns, and cost drivers
- Conduct price variance analysis including actual vs budget and historical comparisons
- Develop should-cost models, pricing benchmarks, and total cost of ownership analyses
- Identify pricing trends, cost drivers, and inflationary risks across procurement categories
- Monitor price movements, exchange rate impacts, and index-linked increases
- Benchmark prices against market data and historical spend
- Validate supplier quotes, tenders, and price adjustment requests
- Support supplier negotiations with detailed pricing models and cost insights
- Ensure pricing terms are correctly implemented within contracts and ERP systems
- Monitor contract pricing, rebates, escalations, and savings performance
- Track cost savings and cost avoidance initiatives
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies and internal controls
- Support audits and pricing governance processes
- Maintain integrity and accuracy of procurement and supplier data
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and BBEEE requirements
- Uphold ethical and transparent behaviour in line with organisational standards
- Maintain pricing dashboards, models, and management reports
- Work closely with Procurement, Finance, Sales, Engineering, Production, and Aftermarket teams
- Support buyers and pricing analysts with data and administrative support
- Assist management with ad hoc projects and analytical requirements
- Matric / Grade 12
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in one of the following:
- Finance or Accounting
- Economics
- Business Administration
- Statistics or Data Analytics
- Minimum 2–5 years’ experience in procurement price analytics
- Manufacturing or engineering industry exposure advantageous
- ERP system proficiency
- Strong Excel and reporting skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- High attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to work independently and prioritise effectively
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Effective cross-functional collaboration
- Ethical and transparent conduct at all times
