Warehouse Manager

Overview

KEDA Ceramics Company Ltd is a leading manufacturer of ceramic tiles in Africa, with large-scale production and distribution operations across multiple markets. To support our growing operations and ensure efficient warehouse management, we are seeking a highly organized and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee warehouse operations, safety, inventory control, and team performance.

The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring timely and accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. The role focuses on operational efficiency, safety compliance, damage reduction, process improvement, and effective people management.

Warehouse Operations & Inventory Control

• Ensure all warehouse receiving, issuing, and storage activities are completed on time and in the correct quantities according to daily work plans.
• Organize storage, sorting, and repacking of products based on approved warehouse layout plans and designated areas.
• Monitor daily warehouse receipt and dispatch processes to prevent loss, theft, or discrepancies.

Process Improvement & Efficiency

• Review and improve receiving and delivery processes to enhance operational efficiency.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement initiatives within warehouse operations.

Safety, Quality & 6S Management

• Conduct daily 6S inspections within the warehouse, report findings to the department manager, and propose corrective actions.
• Organize regular training for the local team on 6S standards and best practices.
• Assist the department manager in conducting daily fire safety inspections, identify safety risks, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Monitor daily warehouse damage in line with company damage-rate targets.
• Analyze root causes of damages and implement improvement plans to reduce losses and achieve annual targets.

Team Leadership & Performance Management

• Recruit, onboard, train, and retain warehouse staff.
• Coach, guide, and evaluate staff performance to ensure productivity and compliance with company standards.
• Address performance issues through counseling and disciplinary measures where necessary

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 4 years of experience in warehouse operations.
• At least 2 years of proven team management or supervisory experience

• Strong knowledge of warehouse and logistics operations.
• Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and databases.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
