The Pitch Manager will lead the Pitch Team and will be accountable for managing and enhancing the firm's pitch and bid management process across multiple offices. The incumbent will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal bid qualification assessments and processes in relation to, and optimal responses to; client service requests, client panel re/appointments, and pitches to potential clients, from pre-qualification stage to post-bid analysis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy and Leadership:
• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Pitch Team, aligning its operational pitch production activities and processes with the firm's broader business objectives.
Bid Qualification, Bid Management and Client Engagement:
• Oversee and standardize the bid qualification/screening process, actively engaging with fee earners and relevant external stakeholders. Attend briefing sessions as the firm's representative, both pre- and post- pitch submission (where applicable).
• Ensure high-quality and timely pitch submissions that align with the firm's brand and governance standards.
• Perform post-pitch analyses, generating insights and feedback for continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Content Management and Quality Assurance:
• Supervise the end-to-end production, approval, and update of content, materials, and templates of pitch materials that are stored in a centrally accessible Bid Library.
• Regularly review and update generic pitch proposal templates to keep them current and consistent and aligned with the firm website content and practice area information.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Foster collaboration and integration across operational functions—particularly Marketing, HR, Business Development, IT, and Knowledge Management and Practice Areas (in the latter respect with Practice Area support lawyers, where applicable).
• Provide specialized guidance to various practice areas to enhance the quality and efficiency of pitches, and to address any specific Practice Area requirements/concerns.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in law, engineering, marketing, finance, business, or related field.
• APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) membership is highly desirable.
• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in Bid Management and/or Business Development, ideally in the professional services or commercial legal services sector.
Demonstrated expertise in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe Pro.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in teams specializing in pitch support.
• Project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, or similar) are advantageous.
