Job Description
To be responsible for the preparation and serving of basic fast food, in accordance with standards set out by the department, under supervision.

Administrative & Operational Support- Provide efficient administrative and support services through proactive planning and timely execution of tasks.
- Support quality and compliance standards by aligning operational practices with OSHACT regulations to ensure safe working conditions.
- Conduct hazard analysis and identify critical control points to mitigate risks.
- Implement "clean as you go" practices, monitor temperature logs, and ensure regular sanitisation of work surfaces and kitchen equipment.
- Safely handle and apply appropriate cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Assist the Chef de Partie by accurately measuring and preparing meal ingredients.
- Season various meats and prepare vegetables, fruits, herbs, and spices through washing, peeling, and chopping.
- Prepare basic salads and sauces as directed by the Chef de Partie.
- Plate and present meal items in line with the Chef de Partie’s instructions.
- Receive and inspect deliveries to confirm quality and accuracy of ordered items.
- Monitor inventory levels and report low or depleted supplies to the supervisor.
- Dispose of expired or spoiled food items from storage areas including refrigerators and freezers.
- Perform routine cleaning duties and ensure all workstations are properly sanitised to maintain hygiene standards.
- Minimum Education:
Grade 12 / Matric Certificate - Preferred Certification:
Basic Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate - Experience:
1–2 years in a kitchen or food preparation environment (hospitality or catering industry preferred) - Skills:
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and cleanliness
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks
