Senior Geologist - Exploration

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Geologist to lead exploration activities and prospect generation in the Randburg area. This role is pivotal in identifying and evaluating new hydrocarbon potential through the interpretation of geological and geophysical data. You will be responsible for developing exploration strategies, managing seismic data interpretation, and contributing significantly to the company's future growth. • Lead geological assessments for new exploration opportunities, including basin analysis and play fairway mapping.
• Interpret seismic, well log, and core data to identify and delineate potential hydrocarbon reservoirs.
• Develop and refine geological models to support exploration drilling campaigns.
• Collaborate with geophysicists and reservoir engineers to integrate subsurface datasets.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and potential partners.
• Stay current with advances in exploration technologies and methodologies.

• Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in exploration geology within the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency in geological and geophysical interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom).
• Strong understanding of structural geology, sedimentology, and sequence stratigraphy.
