Full-time, permanent Msuez UK is a leading construction company specializing in large-scale projects in South Africa. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Crane Operator to join our team in Johannesburg. As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of cranes to lift, move, and position materials, equipment, and structures on our construction sites.

You will work closely with the project managers and other team members to ensure that all lifting operations are carried out safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate various types of cranes, including tower cranes, mobile cranes, and crawler cranes, to lift and move materials and equipment on construction sites - Inspect cranes before and after use to ensure they are in good working condition - Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries - Communicate with project managers and other team members to understand the lifting requirements and plan the lifting operations accordingly - Ensure that all loads are properly secured and balanced before lifting - Monitor and maintain the crane's operational and safety features, such as brakes, hoist ropes, and boom extensions - Keep accurate records of daily activities, including the materials lifted, time spent on each task, and any incidents or malfunctions - Coordinate with riggers and signal persons to ensure safe and efficient lifting operations - Train and supervise new crane operators and provide guidance and support as needed - Perform routine maintenance and repairs on cranes as needed - Adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times.

Qualifications and Skills:

- High school diploma or equivalent - Valid crane operator certification - Minimum of 3 years of experience operating cranes in a construction environment - Knowledge of various types of cranes and their capabilities - Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures for crane operations - Strong communication and teamwork skills - Ability to read and interpret construction plans and lifting charts - Physical strength and stamina to operate cranes for extended periods - Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills - Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and at different heights.
