Midvaal Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client, for a technically strong and hands-on Workshop / Hydraulic Technician.

This opportunity is suited to a mechanically inclined individual with solid experience in power tool repairs, hydraulics, and fault-finding who thrives in a structured workshop environment.

Role Purpose:

To determine root causes of failure and perform repairs on electrical power tools and hydraulic units, including routine inspections and preventative maintenance, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to workshop standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric (Compulsory)
  • Minimum N3 with Electrical Trade Theory
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a Power Tool Technician
  • Previous repair experience (essential)
  • Power Tool Repairs Certificate (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of major brands such as Bosch, Makita, etc. (advantageous)
  • Experience in fault-finding (essential)
  • Exposure to SAP Business One (advantageous)

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Hands-on technical capability
  • High-pressure hydraulics fault-finding and repairs
  • Pneumatics fault-finding, maintenance and repairs
  • Electrical power tool diagnostics and repair
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Book in units for repair and create detailed job cards
  • Diagnose faults and repair hydraulic units and power tools
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections
  • Conduct quality control checks
  • Mentor learnerships by teaching repair skills
  • Assist customers and reps with offloading units when required
  • Maintain workshop cleanliness and housekeeping standards
  • Submit required reports
