PositionSummer Camp Counselor
Join AAC as a Summer Camp Counselor and become an integral part of a team dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our members and their guests. We are looking for individuals with strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to excellence. If you’re a motivated team player who enjoys interacting with people and children and takes pride in providing outstanding customer service, we’d love to hear from you!
This seasonal position begins in early May and ends in late August.
- Competitive hourly wage: $14 per hour
- Holiday pay: 1.5x on Memorial Day, July 4 and Labor Day
- Complimentary meals are provided in our team-member dining room during scheduled breaks
- Annual summer pool party for all team members
- Support the mission and core values of Atlanta Athletic Club
- Supervise children aged 6 months to 12 years
- Assist with potty-training and diaper changes when necessary
- Plan and lead fun and engaging educational activities including arts, crafts, games and storytelling
- Ensure a safe environment by following established safety procedures and guidelines
- Accurately complete accident and incident reports related to child injuries or behavior concerns
- Assist with the set up and breakdown of children’s activities and events
- Support club-wide events that have child-friendly activities
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and welcoming space for children and parents
- Foster a positive and supportive environment for children, parents and team members
- Engage professionally with members, guests, colleagues and supervisors
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or Youth Activities Director
- Knowledge of age-appropriate play and educational activities
- Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Demonstrate strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
- Build and maintain positive relationships with team members
- Demonstrate flexibility with daily camp activities, as schedules may change
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of one year of experience in childcare or teaching leadership role preferred
- Summer camps are Monday through Friday starting May 26
- Seasonal Part-Time (15-20 hours/week) or Full-Time (20-40 hours/week), based on your availability
- Shifts vary based on the needs of the Club and include nights, weekends and holidays
- Required training session in May. Exact time TBD later
