Position Purpose

Under the general supervision of the Associate Head of School for Academics, the Johns Creek High School Principal provides leadership and oversight in administering the High School's educational programs. This position promotes the educational, spiritual, and personal development of students in accordance with the mission of Providence, Board policies, and applicable laws and regulations. The Principal also leads program development and professional growth initiatives to ensure excellence in teaching and learning.

Essential

Functions
  • Develops and administers school programs consistent with the school's goals and objectives.
  • Provides visionary leadership and direction to high school faculty and staff in the ongoing evaluation and enhancement of academic and extracurricular programs.
  • Fosters a Christ-centered school environment that is safe, nurturing, and conducive to individualized instruction and student growth.
  • Ensures implementation and adherence to Board policies, administrative procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Promotes continuous professional learning through seminars, workshops, and mentoring.
  • Encourages innovative teaching practices and supports staff in professional experimentation and growth.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records for all student activities, attendance, and performance.
  • Collaborates with academic leadership to align instructional programs, professional development, and staffing needs.
  • Oversees student learning assessment processes and collaborates with teachers to adjust instruction for diverse learning needs.
  • Partners with Human Resources in the recruitment, selection, evaluation, and development of staff.
  • Organizes and leads regular faculty meetings focused on instructional improvement and mission alignment.
  • Encourages parental engagement and fosters strong communication with families and the broader community.
  • Upholds school conduct standards and ensures alignment with Providence policies.
  • Supervises and evaluates teaching and support staff, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement and continued employment.
  • Manages department finances and resources responsibly in alignment with school policies.
  • Conducts evaluations, including interviews, of prospective families in the admissions process.
Additional Duties

Performs other related duties as assigned by the Associate Head of School or Head of School.

Equipment Used
  • Standard office equipment, including computer, printer, copier, and telephone.
Travel Requirements
  • Travel between campus buildings and locations (Lilburn and Johns Creek) for events and meetings as required. Occasional travel for professional development (conferences, seminars, etc.) may also be required.
Physical and Mental Demands / Work Environment

  • Must meet the physical, sensory, and environmental requirements necessary to perform essential job duties.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of instructional best practices, pedagogy, and differentiated instruction.

  • Proficiency in program evaluation, staff supervision, and school administration.
  • Ability to analyze data and apply findings to improve instruction and outcomes.
