License and Certification Qualifications- Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator's Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission Required
- Valid Georgia certificate in the field of teaching, instructional technology, or media Required
- Master's Degree in related field Required
- Specialist's Degree in related field Preferred
- Doctoral Degree in related field Preferred
- 5 years of experience in library media in education Required
- 2 years of experience in a leadership position in the library media field Preferred
- Ability to develop, lead, and supervise K-12 library media programs to achieve the district's mission, vision, and goals

Provide leadership, coordination, and support for all aspects of systemwide library media programs.
- Lead, plan, and support the library media programs for the district.
- Plan collaboratively for continuous quality improvement of the Library Media Services Department.
- Provide continuity for the K-12 library media program, including instructional technology integration.
- Plan with the system library media staff to provide a technology infrastructure to support an electronic learning community of resources for students and staff.
- Plan collaboratively with school instructional technology teams to integrate technology to support teaching and learning.
- Create the conditions for media professionals to develop leadership, teamwork, and consensus-building skills and to provide a quality library media program.
- Plan for the effective use of space and facilities within the department, school library media center renovations, and new school library media centers.
- Direct and develop Operational Management Plans (OMPs) for the district library media program.
- Facilitate internships for Library Media Specialists through partnerships with colleges and universities.
- Involve parents, citizen groups, and community agencies in developing an effective library media program that serves the Gwinnett community of learners.
- Assist library media committees in defining goals, developing plans, and establishing procedures for selection and evaluation of library media resources.
- Develop resources on use of new technologies for Media Specialists to deliver at their schools for system-wide initiatives.
- Develop, organize, and deliver in-services for Media Specialists and Media Clerks to encourage continuous improvement.
