Job Description:
The clinical adjunct instructor will provide classroom and clinical instruction and supervision of Surgical Technology students in health care facilities and in skills lab. Additionally, the clinical adjunct instructor will be responsible for directing, evaluating, and reporting student progress toward course objectives and for periodic review and updating of course material. Clinical adjunct instructors must also pursue ongoing formal training designed to maintain and upgrade professional and instructional capabilities.
The clinical adjunct instructor will also assist in recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts; ensure safety and security requirements are met. Travel to multiple clinical sites in our 11 county service area will be required. This is a part-time position, therefore no overtime can be earned. Periodic travel between major Wiregrass campuses and satellite sites.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Be a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency.
- Possess a credential in the field of core Surgical Technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
- A minimum of at least two (2) years related work experience in the past five (5) years.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Teaching experience at the postsecondary level is preferred.
SALARY/BENEFITS $25.00/hr this is an adjunct position used on an as needed basis, not to exceed 27 hours per week. No promise of full-time employment exists. No health nor flexible benefits will be provided. This position is funded in whole or in part by State/Local/Tuition funds.
