The Alcon team is looking for a talented and motivated co‑op to join us onsite for Fall 2026 in the Johns Creek, GA location. Alcon co‑ops will have the opportunity to gain industry experience, network with other Alcon professionals, and make a real‑world impact by working on meaningful projects that help patients and customers see brilliantly. The Injection Molding Engineering co‑op will be assigned projects focused on process upgrades and OEE improvements for the DSMFLEX platform, including safety, quality, or performance‑driven improvements and possible assistance with the installation and qualification of new or retrofit equipment in the DSMFLEX area.
Key Responsibilities- Involved in injection molding optimization and improvements in a high‑speed manufacturing facility.
- Learn injection molding operations and manage the change controls related to assigned initiatives.
- Contribute to program updates for senior‑level stakeholders.
- Actively participate in continuous improvements to communication metrics to achieve higher levels of business impact.
- Monitor impact through various channels of feedback for demonstrated results.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to the co‑op and at least one additional semester following the co‑op.
- Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or a related major.
- Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0.
- Demonstrated leadership skills (e.g., extracurricular activities or projects).
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis; students on an F1 visa with CPT work authorization may be accommodated.
- Ability to commit to a semester‑long, full‑time (40 hours per week) fall co‑op.
- Plastics Engineering or related majors (B.S. Plastics Engineering Technology, B.S. Polymer Engineering, B.S. Materials Science and Engineering – Polymers, etc.).
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong people skills and ability to thrive in a team‑based environment.
- Strong project management capabilities, including managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Superior time‑management and prioritization skills.
- Independent worker and initiative‑taker.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams).
- Strong mechanical aptitude, CAD skills, and ability to 3D print.
- Prior experience with Solid Works.
