Optomi, in partnership with a leader in the manufacturing industry, is seeking an Sr. Network Engineer for an on-site role in Johns Creek, GA. The right candidate will have extensive experience with Cisco routing and switching, Palo Alto firewalls, and SD-WAN technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise network infrastructure, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and security.
• Configure and maintain Palo Alto firewalls, Prisma Access, and Strata security platforms.
• Design and maintain routing and switching architectures (Cisco-based), including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and VPNs.
• Support SD-WAN implementations and contribute to modernizing WAN infrastructure.
• Integrate new technologies into the existing network to improve efficiency and performance.
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, connectivity, and configuration issues quickly and accurately.
• Monitor network performance and conduct proactive tuning and maintenance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, OT, and business teams to ensure alignment with operational goals.
• Stay up to date on emerging trends in network architecture, industrial networking, and security best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field — or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 6-8 years of hands-on experience in network engineering with a focus on routing, switching, and security.
• Strong proficiency with Palo Alto firewalls; experience with Prisma and Strata preferred.
• Solid experience with Cisco routers and switches, network segmentation, and SD-WAN.
• Familiarity with manufacturing/industrial/OT environments is highly desirable.
• Deep understanding of network protocols: TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, VPN, BGP, OSPF, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to think outside the box, troubleshoot creatively, and solve technical problems independently.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working independently and within cross-functional teams.

Preferred Certifications:

• CCNP strongly preferred; CCNA with extensive experience will be considered.
• Palo Alto certifications (PCNSA, PCNSE) are a plus.
• Additional credentials such as CompTIA Network+ or JNCIA are welcomed.
