Job Description Summary

The SAP Operations and Warehousing Architect is a senior solution authority spanning the full operational supply chain – from demand signal to dock door. This role owns the SAP architecture across Procurement, Production Planning, Demand Management, Warehouse Management, and Logistics Execution, ensuring that materials are planned, sourced, manufactured, stored, and shipped through tightly integrated, automated processes. As a cross-functional leader, this person partners directly with Operations, Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing, and Procurement leadership to translate business requirements into scalable SAP solutions that drive operational performance across the enterprise.

Primary

Responsibility

Own the end-to-end architecture, design governance, and delivery of SAP capabilities supporting the operational supply chain – encompassing Demand Management (APO/IBP or S/4

HANA), Production Planning (PP/PP-PI), Procurement and Materials Management (MM), Warehouse Management (WM/EWM), and Logistics Execution (LE) – ensuring every process from forecast to fulfilment is integrated, automated, and aligned with manufacturing and distribution strategy.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the demand and supply planning architecture in SAP – designing MRP and demand management configurations that translate sales forecasts and customer orders into accurate material requirements, procurement proposals, and production schedules, ensuring planning signals flow cleanly through to procurement and manufacturing without excess inventory or supply gaps.
  • Own the Procurement and Materials Management (MM) architecture – governing the source-to-receive process including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, source lists, info records, and goods receipt – ensuring procurement execution is automated, vendor‑managed where applicable, and that every goods receipt immediately drives the downstream warehouse and inventory processes.
  • Architect the Production Planning (PP/PP-PI) integration with the broader supply chain – designing how production orders and process orders are generated, scheduled, and executed, how component availability is confirmed against warehouse stock, and how production confirmations flow back to inventory and costing without requiring manual reconciliation.
  • Design and govern the end-to-end warehouse architecture in SAP WM/EWM – from inbound goods receipt and put‑away through internal transfers, manufacturing staging, finished‑goods storage, and outbound picking – ensuring every physical movement in the warehouse is system-directed, traceable, and tied to a business transaction in MM, PP, or SD.
  • Own the integration between the warehouse and manufacturing floor – configuring production supply areas and staging zones so that raw materials and components are automatically pulled from storage and staged at the right work centre ahead of production, with replenishment triggered by production demand and confirmed back through the system when materials are consumed.
  • Architect automated replenishment across the warehouse network – ensuring picking bins, manufacturing staging areas, and intermediate storage locations are restocked automatically before stock runs out, with replenishment logic that responds to both current bin levels and forward‑looking production and fulfilment demand.
  • Connect warehouse execution to outbound fulfilment – designing the integration between SD delivery processing and WM so that when a shipment is created, warehouse tasks are automatically generated, stock is picked, packed, and goods‑issued, and delivery status flows back to SD and billing without manual hand‑offs.
  • Own the Logistics Execution (LE) architecture – including shipping point determination, route planning, outbound delivery scheduling, shipment document management, and carrier coordination – ensuring the LE layer operates as the reliable bridge between warehouse operations and customer delivery commitments.
  • Define and govern master data architecture across the operational supply chain – including material master views for planning, procurement, production, and warehouse execution; vendor master and purchasing info…
