Material Handler, Forklift Operator, Distribution/ General Warehouse
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and unload incoming shipments safely and efficiently.
- Inspect incoming materials for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report concerns to leadership.
- Verify received materials against packing slips, purchase orders, and receiving documentation.
- Transport materials to designated storage or production areas using approved material handling equipment.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory through proper material identification and storage practices.
- Perform inventory counts and assist with cycle count activities as required.
- Label, organize, and stage materials to support production needs.
- Maintain clean and organized receiving and warehouse areas.
- Follow all company safety policies, material handling procedures, and warehouse standards.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and movement of materials throughout the facility.
- Utilize scanners, computers, and inventory systems to track material movement as required.
- Communicate material shortages, damaged goods, and inventory discrepancies to supervisors.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and assigned warehouse projects.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous warehouse, receiving, inventory, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Forklift certification or ability to become forklift certified preferred.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory management systems.
- Ability to read and understand receiving documents and work instructions.
- Knowledge of warehouse and receiving operations.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and twisting.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safely.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Warehouse and manufacturing environment. Exposure to forklift traffic, moving machinery, dust, and varying temperatures. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on operational needs.
