Registered Nurse Float Pool
United Health Services (UHS) is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our Float Pool on night shift, supporting Medical-Surgical/Telemetry and Critical Care units across Wilson Medical Center and Binghamton General Hospital. This role is ideal for clinically confident nurses who thrive in fast-paced environments and can seamlessly transition between units while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. As a Float Pool RN, you'll play a critical role across the organization—bringing your expertise to diverse patient populations and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams where you're needed most.

UHS Binghamton General Hospital, Binghamton, NY
There is more than one location associated with this position. This is either because there are multiple openings at different sites, or the successful candidate will be required to float across multiple UHS facilities. Your recruiter and hiring manager will clarify expectations during the interview process.

Compensation Range:
$44.77 - $67.15 per hour, depending on experience
You will be eligible for benefits if you are hired into a regular position with at least 24 scheduled weekly hours.

Responsibilities:
- Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements and evaluates nursing care in managing a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse, when designated by unit assignment and consideration of factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost and impact.
- Educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
- Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to UHS Hospitals policy.
- Shares in responsibility for productivity and effective resources utilization including staffing, time management, supplies and services.
- Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies.
- Actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices.
- Actively engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completing all mandatory education requirements.
- Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice.
- Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
- Performs duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
Minimum
Required:
- Graduate of Accredited school of nursing
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
License/Certification
Minimum
Required:
- Current New York State Registered Nurse
- CPR within 3 months of hire
- ACLS within 3 months of hire
Preferred:
- Professional Certification
