Nursing Assistant Position

United Health Services is seeking compassionate and dependable Nursing Assistants to join our inpatient care teams. In this role, you'll provide direct, hands-on support to patients across a variety of units, helping ensure comfort, safety, and dignity throughout their hospital stay. As a Nursing Assistant, you play a vital role in the patient experience. From assisting with daily activities to offering reassurance during challenging moments, your kindness, attention to detail, and commitment to care help create a healing environment for both patients and their families.

UHS is currently hiring across several inpatient units with a variety of shifts and FTE opportunities:
Telemetry, Oncology, Rehabilitation
- Physical & Brain, Neuro/Neuroscience Suite, Med Surg, Vascular Unit, Medical/Surgical Stepdown Unit, CVICU, Orthopedics, ICU, Pediatric Unit, Medical/Surgical Respiratory Unit.

Work Locations:

UHS Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY

UHS Binghamton General Hospital, Binghamton, NY

There is more than one location associated with this position. This is either because there are multiple openings at different sites, or the successful candidate will be required to float across multiple UHS facilities. Compensation Range:

$19.37 - $28.09 per hour, depending on experience

You will be eligible for benefits if you are hired into a regular position with at least 24 scheduled weekly hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, mobility, and toileting
  • Support meal service and monitor patient intake
  • Take and document vital signs, reporting changes to the care team
  • Respond promptly to call lights and patient needs
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment
  • Assist with patient transport and unit support tasks
  • Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients and families
  • Collaborate with nurses and other team members to ensure quality outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Completion of a Nurse's Aide program
  • Previous hospital or health care experience.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
