Time & Pay Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Payroll Specialist to join our team. We are a locally owned payroll service bureau providing payroll and related services to businesses across a variety of industries.
This position combines payroll processing, client service, organization, and problem-solving. The ideal candidate is dependable, comfortable managing multiple responsibilities, and interested in developing long-term payroll knowledge and skills.
Prior payroll experience is helpful, but not required. We provide on-the-job training for candidates who demonstrate strong customer service skills, professionalism, attention to detail, and an ability to learn new systems and processes.
Responsibilities- Process client payrolls accurately and within established deadlines
- Review and enter payroll-related information, including new hires, pay changes, deductions, tax updates, and other client requests
- Prioritize daily responsibilities based on payroll schedules and client needs
- Prepare and review payroll information with clients before processing
- Respond to client emails and telephone calls in a professional and timely manner
- Upload and reconcile retirement, HSA, Workers' Compensation, and other payroll-related files
- Research payroll questions by reviewing system history, documentation, correspondence, and account records
- Maintain accurate client notes and documentation
- Protect confidential payroll, employee, and company information
- Work effectively across multiple software platforms
- Assist with identifying opportunities to improve workflows and internal processes

The following experience is helpful, but not required:
- Payroll or timekeeping experience
- Payentry or Millennium
- Swipe Clock or Time Works Plus
- Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, basic formulas, and working with data imports
- Starting pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour, based on relevant experience and qualifications
