Thompson & Litton is seeking a Staff Accountant to serve as a vital bridge between our Project Managers and our financial operations. In this role, you aren’t just 'crunching numbers'—you are ensuring the revenue stream of a multi-disciplined firm remains healthy, supporting projects that literally change the map of our region.
The Role:
Impact & Accuracy As a Staff Accountant, you will manage the full-cycle billing process and serve as a key resource for our Project Management team. You will:
- Manage Project Billing:
Collaborate with Project Managers (PMs) to generate complex invoices tailored to specific contract terms (Hourly, Fixed Fee, or Percent Complete). - Ensure Revenue Integrity:
Capture sub-consultant expenses and reimbursable costs accurately to ensure every dollar is accounted for. - Optimize Cash Flow:
Post daily receipts and lead proactive, professional collection efforts by monitoring aging reports. - Support Payroll:
Process firm-wide payroll with a high degree of accuracy and strict confidentiality using ADP. - Master the System:
Maintain project-specific billing rates and resolve discrepancies within our Deltek Vantagepoint ERP system. - Audit Excellence:
Provide critical support for year-end audits and special projects as directed by the Director of Accounting.
- Education:
An undergraduate degree from a four-year college (Accounting major preferred). - Technical Savvy:
Proficiency in Excel is a must. Preferred experience with Deltek Vantagepoint (ERP) and ADP. - Industry Knowledge: A solid understanding of GAAP. Experience with in an Architectural, Engineering, or Construction firm is a significant plus.
- Communication:
The ability to translate financial data into clear conversations with technical Project Managers and external clients. - Precision:
An obsession with detail and a proven ability to meet tight monthly deadlines.
