The seatWe're hiring a Civil Project Engineer to lead and design land development projects across the firm's footprint. The work spans private commercial and residential development, mixed-use, institutional sites, and public infrastructure, with strong relationships across local municipalities and developers in the corridor.
You’ll own projects from concept through construction administration. Site design, grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility coordination, and entrance and roadway design will all sit within your scope. You’ll work directly with clients, lead design teams, mentor junior engineers, and have a real say in how the work gets done.
This is a seller‑doer culture without silos between design and PM. You design, you run the project, you talk to the client, and you grow the work that interests you. No corporate matrix, no layers of approval, no being assigned to projects you’ve never seen the client on.
What you’ll do- Lead site design for commercial, residential, and mixed‑use developments across VA, TN, and WV.
- Manage grading, drainage, stormwater, erosion and sediment control, and utility coordination from concept through final design.
- Run client meetings, jurisdictional reviews, and permitting submittals.
- Develop technical specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers.
- Stay current on local, state, and federal regulations affecting land development across the corridor.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed PE in VA, TN, or WV (or eligibility to sit within 6 to 12 months).
- 4 to 10+ years of land development or site civil design experience.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and supporting hydraulic or grading software.
- Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
