Position Overview
Custodian – East Tennessee State University. The Custodial Department is looking to fill three (3) vacant positions.
Employees in this class are under close supervision and are responsible for cleaning and maintaining the public areas of academic and administrative buildings, assist with maintaining assigned grounds areas, and perform all assigned cleaning duties.
Work Schedule and ExpectationsMust be able to work any shift or schedule. Overtime will be required as necessary. Facilities employees may be required to report at their regularly scheduled times during emergency closures or during inclement weather to perform essential functions, including snow removal duties.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities- Knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures.
- Ability to understand and use the materials and equipment used in custodial work.
- Ability to follow simple instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with others.
- Ability to perform light to heavy manual labor.
Successful completion of eighth grade.
Compensation & Benefits- Job Family – Facilities Services, Buildings and Grounds Assistant 1.
- Market Range – 2 (Salary Schedules).
