Our Johnson City Location is looking for someone to join their Brass Handle Cell as a Machine Operator. This is a 2nd shift position scheduled to work Monday
- Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

SCOPEThis role charter covers the functions of the brass handle cell that includes Packing, Auto Pack and Auto Paint. This cell ensures that rotary instruments are assembled and packed according to the Device History Records. Ensures products are correctly labeled and packed properly. Paint bands and rings according to product specifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Auto Pack Operations includes:
- Operates auto packs machine.
- Loads slides/packs for machines.
- Cleans bowls to pack machine as required.
- Reviews packs to ensure quality.
- Groups packs as required and places in indicated storage boxes.
- Completes paperwork as required.
- Repairs machines as needed.
- Operates auto packs machine.
- Labeling Operation includes:
- Labels instruments.
- Inspects instruments to ensure quality and correct labels.
- Checks Device History Record (DHR) against orders.
- Inspects paperwork for accurate specifications and documentation.
- Labels instruments.
- Auto Paint Operation includes:
- Operates band and ring painting machines.
- Paints rings and bands on handles/files according to specifications.
- Turns on and off machines and ovens as required.
- Performs quality review of painted items.
- Places painted objects in oven as required.
- Adjusts and cleans machines as needed.
- Catalogues information as required.
- Operates band and ring painting machines.
- Auto Assembly Operation includes:
- Operates auto assembly machine.
- Loads handles and files into machine.
- Loads the stop cord into machine.
- Monitors operation.
- Performs quality review of assembled files.
- Operates auto assembly machine.
- Brush Machine – Operates as outlined in Work Instructions
- Calibration Lines Paint Machines – Operates as outlined in Work Instructions
- Label Printing (Kiaro! And Zebra printers) - Operates as outlined in Work Instructions
- Ensures Vortex Blue products are heat treated within specifications
- Confirms that heating data is correct.
- Brush machine is utilized to remove debris from file(s).
- Depending on the needs of the company, the employee may be entrusted with and asked to perform other tasks related to his/her competence.
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred or equivalent of work experience and education. A technical degree or certification is a plus.
YEARS AND TYPE OF EXPERIENCEMinimum of 1 year machine operation experience or equivalent technical work/education experience.
KEY REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND CAPABILITIES- Ability to handle small, sharp pieces.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance.
- Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positioning.
- Ability to use a magnet, microscope, scale, and X-Acto knife as well as Allen wrenches for adjusting of machines.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
