Production Supervisor

A. O. Smith is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations for residential and commercial water heating and treatment products. In this role, you will oversee production teams on the shop floor, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery targets are met in a high-volume environment. You will coordinate staffing and schedules, monitor KPIs, resolve line issues, and champion continuous improvement using lean practices.

Working in a performance-driven, engineering-centric culture, you'll collaborate with maintenance, quality, and engineering to optimize processes, support new product introductions, and develop team skills for long-term success.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily production activities to meet safety, quality, and output targets
• Supervise and develop production operators through coaching, training, and performance feedback
• Monitor production lines, troubleshoot issues, and drive root-cause problem solving
• Ensure adherence to safety policies, standard work, and regulatory requirements
• Track production metrics and report on performance, downtime, and scrap
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality to improve equipment reliability
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing tools
• Manage schedules, labor allocation, and overtime to meet customer demand
• Support new product or process introductions on the production floor
• Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready manufacturing environment
