Responsibilities
Registered Nurse (RN) – PRN. Shift requirements: work 4 shifts in a 28‑day period with two being weekend shifts. No specific shifts assigned; may be needed day or night, 12‑hour shifts (6 am–6 pm or 6 pm–6 am).

Oak Plains Academy is a 98‑bed residential treatment program offering psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral issues. Residents receive individualized treatment plans. The team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, nurses, and teachers serves hundreds of children and adolescents annually.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Render professional nursing care to patients within the treatment programs. Practice ongoing patient assessment, evaluation, and update of patient care through observation of physical and behavioral symptoms and communicate pertinent data to other service areas as needed. Administer medications appropriately and document all data accurately according to facility policy. Participate in formulation of individual care plans for all patients and implement plan according to facility policy.
- Perform proper HWC techniques, demonstrating knowledge of patient and staff safety. Complete debriefings as indicated.
- Serve as a role model to staff and students in dress and demeanor.
- Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program and licensed (or license‑eligible) in the State of Tennessee.
- Preferred experience with children/adolescents.
- Preferred experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting.
- 21 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
- MUST COMPLETE TWO WEEKS OF ORIENTATION CLASSES, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, 8:00 AM TO 4:30 PM.
- This role requires a successful background check, fingerprinting, and employment verification.
