You’ll be part of our SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality) team working. The SHEQ support technician supports daily manufacturing operations by performing inspections, maintaining quality documentation, and assisting with problem‑solving activities. This role ensures products meet internal standards and customer requirements while helping reduce defects, scrap, and process variation.

Work Type (Onsite):
This position will be based onsite at our Ooltewah, TN facility. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship.

Shift Timings
: 1st shift; 6am-2:30pm M-F

Responsibilities
  • Perform in-process, first-article, and final inspections using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMMs, etc.).
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain required quality records, logs, and reports.
  • Support root cause analysis and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct incoming material inspections and verify supplier documentation.
  • Perform equipment calibration checks and maintain calibration records.
  • Assist production teams with real‑time quality guidance, including interpretation of drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Identify and escalate nonconformances; help contain suspect product.
  • Participate in internal audits, customer audits, and compliance activities.
  • Support training efforts on quality procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, and process variation.
  • Assist in welding/fabrication assessments for potential new hires.
  • Provide welding/fabrication instruction and internal process flows during onboarding period for new hires.
Knowledge / Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing quality, inspection, or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of quality inspection methods, measurement tools, and basic metrology.
  • Solid documentation and record‑keeping skills with high attention to detail.
  • Problem‑solving mindset with familiarity in root cause analysis tools (5 Why, Fishbone, etc.).
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work closely with production teams.
  • Experience with measurement equipment and inspection software is a plus.

Work Environment Requirements
  • Must be comfortable spending significant time on the shop floor.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and navigate stairs and equipment areas within light and heavy manufacturing settings.
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
