Being a Retail Scan Associate offers an opportunity in retail with workplace independence, some flexibility in hours, and job consistency. There will be continuous physical activity throughout the workday shift.

• Visit stores weekly to scan product barcodes on displays, in aisles, and at end caps.
• Use a downloadable app on a mobile phone to scan barcodes in various store locations.
• Complete display scanning throughout the store each week; this can take several hours.
• Perform Custom Projects (additional in-store work) that occur almost every week and add about 1–2 hours per week per store.
• Provide quantity data for approximately 45% of scanned products as requested.
• Adhere to weekly deadlines; maintain dependability and quality-driven actions.
• Report to the store within the described deadlines and work with major brand retailers and local independents.

  Grocery and Mass Retail stores in the local area (e.g., Blountville, Erwin, Johnson City).
• Location examples:
  Blountville, TN 37617;

  Johnson City, TN 37604.
• Available workdays:
  Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (for each store accordingly).

The base hours for this position average from 7–14 hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours (typically 1–2 hours per week per store) are often assigned for special projects, with higher demand January through June. Full scheduling details will be reviewed during the interview.

• At least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
• Reliable vehicle with minimum state auto insurance coverage.
• Ability to stand for long periods and access products throughout the store.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, reach up to 6 feet, and bend/stretch/stoop/stand.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Deadline-driven self-starter.
• Reliable Wi-Fi access.
• Tech-savvy.
• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
