Role Overview

Iowa PBS is seeking two exceptional Fall 2026 interns within our production division. As a production intern, you’ll dive into studio cameras, teleprompters, and lighting, gaining hands‑on experience in operating professional‑grade equipment. You’ll work alongside seasoned videographers, editors, and scenic professionals, developing expertise in content creation, editing, and distribution.

Internship Objectives
  • Master Video Production Techniques:
    Learn studio and on‑location video production, from camera operation to lighting setups.
  • Editing and Post‑Production

    Skills:

    Hone editing skills using industry‑standard software to transform raw footage into polished, engaging content.
  • Creative Storytelling:
    Craft compelling narratives that educate and inspire.
  • Team

    Collaboration:

    Refine collaboration, communication, and project‑management skills in a broadcast environment.
  • Problem Solving:
    Overcome challenges unique to media production, cultivating a problem‑solving mindset.
  • Audience Engagement:
    Gain insights into audience preferences and engagement strategies.

During the internship, you will assist with weekly shows such as Iowa Press and Market to Market
, and participate in special projects covering girls’ high‑school volleyball championships, high‑school football championships, college wrestling, and the All‑State Music Festival.
