Some people light up around babies. The wobbly first steps, the laughs and squeals, the tiny hands reaching up to be picked up, if that's you, keep reading.
We're looking for someone who genuinely loves the littlest kids, think 4 months to 3 years old. And finds real joy in getting down on the floor with them. Maybe you're a college student who wants a fun low stress job with kids. Maybe you've taught for years and you're craving the simplicity and warmth of working with babies and toddlers.
Or maybe you left the classroom to raise your own little one and realized you miss being around babies who aren't yours too. However you got here, if littles are your favorite, we want to meet you.
At The Little Gym, our Parent/Child classes are 45 minutes of movement, music, and connection for babies and toddlers and the grown-ups who love them. You'll lead these classes as our main focus, with occasional pre-K classes mixed in if you're comfortable with slightly older kids too. No gymnastics background needed, we train you completely on our curriculum and teach spotting for our recreational classes.
What we've learned though is that what you can't train is a genuine love for tiny humans, and that's exactly what we're looking for.
You'll lead our Parent/Child classes hands‑on, high‑energy, joyful 45‑minute sessions for kids as young as 4 months up to age 3, alongside their parent or caregiver. You'll teach fun, age‑appropriate movement following our curriculum, which we fully train you on. You’ll create a space that feels safe and warm for the littlest kids in the room, and just as welcoming for the grown‑ups holding them.
You may occasionally support pre‑K classes as needed, if that’s a fit for you. You’ll speak comfortably about our programs and options for families who want to come to classes or events at the gym. And you’ll help keep our space clean, organized, and safe for our smallest visitors.
Someone who lights up around babies and toddlers specifically, this is the heart of the role. Teaching, caregiving, or childcare experience (classroom, nanny, daycare, babysitting — it all counts). Availability for at least one weekend morning or weekday evening, since we run classes 7 days a week. We can likely accomodate the right person at 10 hours a week or 25 hours a week depending on your needs.
Warm, clear communication with both parents and preverbal or newly‑verbal kids. A nurturing, patient style suited to very young children and their caregivers. Comfort using technology (ipad) for class instruction. Ability to learn systems and processes and comfort with lesson planning. And a calm, confident presence that puts both babies and nervous new parents at ease.
