Iowa Bankers Insurance & Services, Inc. seeks a Mortgage Loss Mitigation Specialist to support community banks in managing delinquent mortgage and consumer loan portfolios. In this hybrid role, you'll review distressed accounts, analyze borrower and collateral data, and recommend compliant loss mitigation strategies, including repayment plans, modifications, and forbearance options. You will collaborate closely with client banks, insurers, and internal teams to ensure adherence to investor and regulatory requirements while minimizing losses and preserving borrower relationships.
Responsibilities include detailed case documentation, portfolio reporting, and contributing to process improvements. This position offers the opportunity to deepen expertise in mortgage risk, compliance, and insurance within a collaborative, mission-focused financial services organization serving Iowa's banking community.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate delinquent mortgage and consumer loan portfolios for community bank clients
- Develop and recommend loss mitigation strategies compliant with investor, insurer, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate repayment plans, modifications, forbearance, and other workout options with lenders and borrowers
- Prepare and analyze financial data, collateral information, and risk exposure for recommended actions
- Document case files, decisions, and communications in accordance with policy and audit standards
- Collaborate with bank partners, insurers, and internal teams to resolve complex accounts
- Monitor performance of modified loans and recommend follow up actions
- Provide guidance and training to client banks on loss mitigation best practices and compliance
- Support reporting, analytics, and trend identification across client portfolios
- Contribute to continuous improvement of workflows, tools, and compliance procedures
