Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health & Detox
Des Moines Wellness Center is expanding and seeking compassionate, skilled Registered Nurses to join our growing team in Johnston, Iowa. As we continue to build a full continuum of behavioral health and substance use treatment services, including detoxification and residential treatment, we are looking for nurses who are passionate about helping individuals achieve recovery and lasting wellness.

What You’ll DoAs a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in the assessment, treatment, and ongoing care of individuals experiencing substance use and mental health challenges.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting nursing assessments and health screenings
- Administering medications and monitoring patient response
- Monitoring withdrawal symptoms using evidence-based protocols
- Collaborating with physicians, psychiatric providers, therapists, and other members of the treatment team
- Providing crisis intervention and responding to medical emergencies
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record
- Supporting individualized treatment planning and patient recovery goals
- Ensuring compliance with clinical, regulatory, and safety standards

- Current and unrestricted Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current CPR certification
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Behavioral health or psychiatric nursing
- Substance use treatment or detoxification services
- Residential treatment or inpatient care
- Knowledge of CIWA, COWS, MAT, and trauma-informed care
We are currently building our nursing team and anticipate utilizing primarily 12-hour shifts. Alternative scheduling options may be considered as we continue to develop staffing models that best support patient care and employee work-life balance.
