Laboratory Technician

Our client, an innovative leader in agricultural research and development, is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to join their team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be an integral part of the Insect Facility Team supporting research and development efforts. Location: Johnston, IA

Pay Range: 22.00

Shift: 8 hours per shift

• Assist with insect-based research using plant and diet-based systems in a controlled environment.
• Bachelor's degree in an entomology, agriculture, horticulture, plant physiology, or related field or three or more years of related experience or equivalent amounts of relevant education and experience is preferred.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and follow standard operating and safety/ergonomics protocols is essential.
• Support the rearing and maintenance of insect colonies, including diet preparation, egg collection, and sanitation tasks.
• Help grow and maintain various crops within growth chambers, greenhouses, or field settings.
• Collect and document high-quality data to support research experiments and meet project deadlines.
• Ensure all materials, supplies, and equipment are prepared and maintained according to safety and compliance standards.

• HS Diploma, AG experience!
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills, including MS Office programs and research software competency.
• Physical ability to stand and sit for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and tolerate repetitive work in warm, humid environments.
