We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Research Assistant to join our Laboratory Operations team. This role is pivotal in supporting high-quality research and production by ensuring the consistent, efficient, and compliant preparation of laboratory materials and media. The ideal candidate will be scientifically proficient, adept at managing complex workflows, and committed to maintaining a safe, high-throughput laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities- Laboratory Support & Preparation: Execute standardized protocols for the preparation of specialized media and reagents. Assist in formulation adjustments and troubleshoot technical challenges in collaboration with research scientists.
- Workflow Management: Manage incoming requests through laboratory information systems, prioritizing tasks to meet project timelines and ensure seamless operational support.
- Lab Operations & Maintenance: Maintain rigorous standards for equipment cleanliness and functionality. Oversee inventory management for chemicals and consumables to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to institutional safety policies, chemical handling protocols, and biological hazard regulations. Proactively maintain an organized and compliant workspace.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Agronomy, or a related scientific discipline.
- Technical Proficiency: Solid foundation in core scientific principles, including chemistry, mathematics, and biology.
- Practical
Skills:
Demonstrated experience with aseptic techniques and fundamental laboratory practices. - Soft Skills: Strong multitasking abilities, the capacity to work independently, and exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Language: Fluency in English (written, spoken, and reading).
- Previous experience in media preparation, plant tissue culture, or a similar production-focused laboratory setting.
- Familiarity with operating in regulated laboratory environments (e.g., GLP/GMP).
- Demonstrated commitment to safety standards and process improvement.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring standing for extended periods.
- Capacity to lift and maneuver materials weighing up to 45 lbs.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with an emphasis on ergonomic awareness and safety.
