Plant Transformation Lab Technician

We are seeking a motivated Plant Transformation Lab Technician to support our gene editing technology development pipeline through plant transformation and tissue culture activities. This hands-on laboratory role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and organized workflows.

• Assist technical personnel with routine laboratory operations, data collection, and information management in support of scientific research.
• Perform tasks according to established methods, standard operating procedures, and training provided by the work group.
• Proactively identify and resolve problems to ensure a safe and productive laboratory environment.
• Execute tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and detail.

• Laboratory skills in chemistry, biology, molecular biology, cell culture, microbiology, and biochemistry.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Plant Sciences, or a related field.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and scientific principles.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in laboratory tasks.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and execution skills.
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

• Experience with plant tissue culture and transformation methods in an industry setting preferred.
• Experience with light and fluorescent microscopy preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Positive attitude with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM. The role involves working in a laboratory setting that requires careful adherence to safety and procedural standards.

This is a Contract position based out of Johnston, IA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
