Laboratory Technician

Pay Range: $17.00hr - $22.00hr

• Familiarity with laboratory techniques such as DNA extraction and PCR.
• Familiarity with basic computer programs such as Microsoft Excel.
• 1+ years prior relevant experience working in a research laboratory environment is required.
• Understanding and adherence to Environmental Health and Safety standards.
• Use of safety procedures and appropriate PPE mandated.
• BS in Science (Chemistry, Biology, or related fields) is strongly preferred.
• Candidates working toward a BS in Science with previous laboratory experience will be considered.

• Assist technical personnel in general laboratory operations and routine laboratory or information handling tasks in support of scientific research under guidance from a supervisor.
• Perform tasks according to accepted methods and training prescribed by the work group.
• Perform plant sampling, DNA extraction, high-throughput PCR, and laboratory inventory sample management.
• Work in laboratory, greenhouse, and field settings.
