Laboratory Technician

With guidance from supervisor, assists technical personnel in general laboratory operations and routine laboratory or information handling tasks in support of scientific research. Perform tasks according to accepted methods and training prescribed by the work group.

This position involves working in laboratory, greenhouse, and field settings. The position responsibilities include: plant sampling, DNA extraction, high-throughput PCR, and laboratory inventory sample management. The position is 100% site-based, with occasional driving required.

This position requires familiarity with laboratory techniques such as DNA extraction and PCR. Must be familiar with basic computer programs such as Microsoft Excel. 1 years+ prior relevant experience working in a research laboratory environment is required.
